Support the Foundation

Every recording, edition and concert is funded by donations. Here is how to help, and the tax relief for Spanish taxpayers

The Foundation has no paid staff and no building to maintain. Practically every euro it receives goes into one of five things: transcribing a manuscript, publishing a score, paying for a recording session, funding a prize for a young performer, or putting on a concert. That is how Embrujo, Somorrostro, No se lo digas a nadie and the award-winning Suite Flamenca came to exist — and how the next recording will.

Make a donation

You can give a one-off or a monthly amount, from 10 to 500 euros, with any credit or debit card. Payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted connection; the Foundation never stores your card details. Monthly gifts are the most useful to us: they let us commit to a recording a year ahead, which is the real timescale of a record project. You can change or cancel them at any time by writing to info@fundacioncofiner.com.

Donate now (secure form, in Spanish)

The donation form is currently in Spanish. The fields are: Nombre (first name), Apellidos (surname), Correo electrónico (e-mail), and the amount. Choose Donación mensual for a recurring gift.

By bank transfer

For any other amount, or if you prefer not to use a card:

Account holder: Fundación Enrique E. Cofiner (tax ID G16978645)
IBAN: ES35 2100 0497 8802 0052 9052
Bank: CaixaBank, Barcelona, Spain
Reference: «Donation» and your name

Please e-mail us afterwards so that we can acknowledge your gift and send you a receipt.

Tax relief

If you pay tax in Spain, the Foundation is covered by Law 49/2002 on patronage. For individuals, the first 250 euros donated each year give an 80 % credit against personal income tax (IRPF); anything above that, 40 % (45 % if you have given the Foundation an equal or larger amount in each of the two previous years). Companies deduct 40 % of the donation from corporation tax (50 % with the same loyalty rule), and can alternatively sign a business collaboration agreement under article 25, treating the contribution as a deductible expense in exchange for public acknowledgement. To claim the credit we need your full name, Spanish tax number (NIF) and address, so that we can report the gift on form 182 in January; we then send you a certificate. The Spanish donations page has a calculator and full details.

If you pay tax elsewhere, we are glad to send a receipt, but whether a gift to a Spanish foundation is deductible depends on the rules of your own country. In some EU member states, cross-border donations to entities that would qualify locally can be relieved on the basis of the Court of Justice’s Persche ruling; please check with your tax adviser. We are not currently registered with any transnational giving network.

Sponsor a project

Companies, festivals and private patrons can link their support to a specific step — the transcription of a particular work, a recording session, a recording prize for a young performer, or a presentation concert — and be credited on the album, the programme and the press materials. Write to us and we will tell you which projects are under way, what is still needed and how your support would be acknowledged.

Legacies

You can also remember the Foundation in your will, with a fixed sum, a percentage or a specific asset. Foundations covered by Law 49/2002 pay no Spanish tax on legacies they receive, so the whole amount reaches its purpose. It is enough for the will to identify the entity by its full name and tax ID: Fundación Enrique E. Cofiner, G16978645. We are happy to discuss this in confidence.

Other ways to help

Not all patronage is money. Programming one of the works in a concert series, adding it to your repertoire, teaching it in a class, lending a hall, sharing documents or photographs of the composer, or simply passing on the recordings all move the project forward. If any of these applies to you, tell us.

Where the money goes

The Foundation publishes its governance rules, the composition of its Board and its activity report in the transparency section, and a year-by-year record of everything recorded, published and premiered in the activity timeline (both in Spanish). Donors are never named publicly unless they ask to be.
